Volunteer

Our Volunteers

Volunteers are essential to our positive environment and the extra care we give our patients.  We have weekly volunteers as well as special event volunteers that support our Clinic community.  Volunteer shifts are 2 to 4 hours once a week and are flexible during Clinic hours, Mon.-Fri., 8:00am—5:00pm. Currently, we are not able accept volunteers under the age of 17, those looking for court-ordered community service hours, or anyone who is not able to commit to at least 50 hours or six months of volunteer work. We are currently accepting applications volunteers wishing to start in January 2019. If you are interested in our Pet Therapy Volunteer Program or have a special project in mind, please email volunteer@childrensclinics.org.

Patient & Family Interns: Interns work 9 – 12 hours/week in 3 to 4 hour shifts. Summer interns work 90 hours over 2 to 3 months. Spring and fall interns work 135 hours over 4 to 5 months. If selected, interns report to the Volunteer & Event Coordinator and work with the Volunteer/Child Life Department. Interns set at least two goals. One will be something you want to do (e.g. a summer reading program for patients) and another will be something you want to learn (e.g. shadowing one of our Child Life Specialists). If you are interested in Child Life, event planning, volunteer management, or working in the nonprofit sector, this is a great way to gain experience at a local nonprofit with a fun and flexible Volunteer/Child Life department.

Upcoming Internship Dates & Deadlines:

Spring 2019

Application Deadline is October 26th, 2018.

Interns will be notified by November 20th, 2018.

Interns will start the week of January 14th, 2019.
